This past weekend, I had the privilege of participating in the Sheraton to Sharq Swim & Run event, organized by TriClub Doha — a dynamic and inspiring gathering that brought together over 50 men, women, and children along the breathtaking stretch of Doha’s Corniche.

The event format was simple yet demanding:

  • 750 meters swim 🌊

  • 8.5 kilometers run 🏃‍♂️

  • 500 meters swim 🌊

It tested both physical strength and mental resilience — a true celebration of endurance in its purest form.

Beyond the Physical Challenge

Participating in this event went far beyond the finish line. It served as a reminder of the importance of community, well-being, and personal growth. Events like these foster genuine connections — I had the opportunity to socialize with a vibrant community of triathletes, exchange experiences, and create bonds that extend well beyond sport.

In a city like Doha, where the pace of life and work is fast, these moments of collective energy and shared passion are priceless.

Fitness: A Strategic Asset for Event Organizers

On a personal level, this event reaffirmed a principle I strongly believe in: As an event organizer, maintaining physical fitness is not optional — it’s essential.

In our line of work, where we face long hours, dynamic environments, and constant problem-solving, physical endurance directly translates into professional endurance.Fitness fuels mental clarity, emotional resilience, and the capacity to lead by example — especially when steering large teams through high-pressure situations.Staying fit isn't merely about health; it's a strategic advantage in the event management industry.

A Word of Appreciation

Special thanks to TriClub Doha for organizing such a well-executed and motivating event. 👏 Their professionalism, attention to detail, and community-driven spirit made the day unforgettable.

As I reflect on the experience, I carry with me not just the memory of a tough but rewarding challenge, but a renewed sense of purpose: To keep pushing limits, to stay connected, and to lead by example — both on the course and beyond. 🚀

Until the next challenge!
